Certified Radon Measurement Specialist

As for my qualifications, I grew up in Western Maryland outside of Cumberland. Living in the country, we did not have many professional tradesmen to call on. So my Dad (just like his Dad), handed down his building knowledge and skills to his sons. We built our own homes; in fact, my Mom and my Brother still live in the homes we built over thirty years ago. We poured the concrete, framed them, installed the electric, plumbing, roof and the stonework. Later came the remodeling of homes and finally the home inspection stage of my career. This adds up to over thirty years of building and remodeling experience. I still love to build and had one of my projects, a patio, featured on This Old House.
After 30 years of building, giving advice and explaining building techniques to my friends, which was very gratifying for me, I decided to expand out and help others in their home search and thus became a home inspector. Since I am a little bit of a perfectionist, I also wanted the best training I could find. I graduated from American Home Inspectors Training Institute (AHIT) (one of America’s oldest and most trusted training schools for Home Inspectors). I am also a Member of ASHI - American Society of Home Inspectors the nation’s oldest and most renowned Home Inspector organization. Standards of Practice that ASHI members adhere to, exceed many states standards of practice. Although apprenticing is not required in Maryland, to gain experience I apprenticed with area home inspectors for months before doing my first inspection. I am also Certified Home Inspector thru the International Association of Certified Home
Of course, these are just questions I would ask but if you want the same from your Home Inspector, I would appreciate you calling me. Ultimately, my goal is to do my utmost to have you answer yes to all these questions.
Home Inspectors and a member of MAHI, Maryland Association of Home Inspectors. I was recently honored by being elected by my piers to the Executive Board of MAHI as Vice President, and to act as their Education Director.
